A different perspective on sensory input and movement.

P-DTR (Proprioceptive–Deep Tendon Reflex) is a specialized approach that uses sensory stimulation and neuromuscular testing to explore how the body responds to movement and input.

What is P-DTR?

P-DTR was developed as a manual, neuromuscular approach drawing on concepts of proprioception, reflex activity, sensory receptors, and manual muscle testing.

At Symmetry, it can provide Dr. Josh with another way to assess persistent musculoskeletal and movement-related concerns from a different angle.

What a session may include

Observe

Discuss symptoms, movement, and relevant history.

Test

Use interactive neuromuscular testing and sensory challenges.

Apply

Use targeted sensory input where clinically appropriate.

Reassess

Compare the response and decide next steps.

Research perspective

P-DTR has an active practitioner and certification community, but its independent clinical research base is still small. Preliminary studies are encouraging in selected musculoskeletal contexts, while substantially more controlled research is needed. Symmetry presents P-DTR as a specialized adjunctive approach—not as a proven cure for systemic or neurological disease.

Persistent problem? A different assessment perspective may help clarify the next step.
